Privacy Policy

Last updated August 2026.

What this covers

This policy covers https://aegisbot.app ("this site") — the public store and information pages for the Aegis Discord bot. It does not cover Discord itself; see Discord's own Privacy Policy for how Discord handles your account and messages.

What we collect

When you log in with Discord, we receive:

  • Your Discord user ID and username (via Discord's identify OAuth scope only — we never request access to your email, servers, or messages).

We store that ID and username in a signed session cookie in your browser so you stay logged in. We don't store it anywhere else beyond linking it to purchase records (below).

Purchases

If you buy something from the store while logged in, we record the item, the price, and the time of purchase against your Discord user ID, so you can see your own purchase history on the Account page. This is the same transaction data the bot itself already tracks for in-Discord purchases — the site doesn't create a second, separate record of who you are.

The store accepts the bot's in-Discord virtual currency for shop items. This is separate from real-money purchases, which is covered below.

Membership & payments

Paid membership is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you check out, you're taken to a Stripe-hosted checkout page — we never see, collect, or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment details ourselves. Stripe handles that directly; see Stripe's own Privacy Policy for how they handle it.

What we do store: your Discord user ID, which membership tier you bought, and the payment status Stripe reports back (e.g. active, canceled) — so the bot knows to grant or revoke your membership role. We don't store your name, email, or card details, even though Stripe's checkout page may separately ask you for an email to send its own receipt.

A membership can also be sold through Discord's own Server Subscriptions, in which case Discord — not Stripe, not us — processes that payment directly; see Discord's Privacy Policy for that path.

Cookies

We use one functional cookie to keep you signed in and a short-lived one during the login process to prevent cross-site request forgery. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't run any third-party analytics or ad scripts on this site.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share your data with third parties.
  • We don't read your Discord messages or server activity from this site.
  • We don't email you — we have no way to, since we never request your email address.

Your data

You can stop using the site at any time by logging out and clearing cookies. To request deletion of your purchase history or ask any question about this policy, reach the server owner through the Discord server the bot is in.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
